Honey Sesame Chicken Bowl Family Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
- Brown rice, cooked - 3 cups (540 grams)
- Chicken breast, skinless, uncooked - 26 oz (737 grams)
- Olive oil - 1 tbsp (14 grams)
- Sea salt - 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper, freshly ground - 1/2 tsp
- Broccoli - 5 cups (500 grams)
- Snap peas - 3 cups (400 grams)
INGREDIENTS FOR SAUCE:
- Water - 3 tbsp (45 grams)
- Soy sauce, low sodium - 6 tbsp (90 grams)
- Honey, raw and unfiltered - 6 tbsp (126 grams)
- Sesame oil - 1 1/2 tbsp (20 grams)
- Sesame seeds - 2 tsp (6 grams)
- Red chili flakes - 1/4 tsp
- Wheat flour, all-purpose - 2 tbsp (16 grams)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cook the brown rice if using uncooked (about 1 cup uncooked).
- Add all the sauce ingredients to a bowl and whisk until the flour is dissolved. Set aside. 3. Cut the chicken breast into small cubes.
- Place a large pan or pot over medium heat. Once hot, add the olive oil and chicken. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes or until fully cooked. Lightly steam the broccoli and snap peas in a separate pot while the chicken cooks.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add the sauce mixture. Gently coat the chicken with the sauce and let stand for 2-3 minutes. Stir occasionally. Turn off the heat when done and let stand for 1-2 minutes.
*Gastric Sleeve servings: Serve 3 ounces (85 grams) of honey sesame chicken together with 1/3 cup broccoli (33 grams) and 1/3 cup snap peas (45 grams). Do not add brown rice. Enjoy!
*Regular servings: Divide the remaining chicken, broccoli, snap peas, and brown rice by the listed number of regular servings. Enjoy!
Note: Stays fresh in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. You can replace the snap peas with regular peas if desired.
