Turkey Meatloaf

INGREDIENTS:

  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp (10 grams)
  • Heinz organic ketchup - 6 tbsp (100 grams)
  • Yellow onion - 1/2 medium (80 grams)
  • Garlic clove - 2 medium (8 grams)
  • Olive oil - 1/4 tsp
  • Egg, whole - 1 large (50 grams)
  • Rolled oats, uncooked - 1/2 cup (50 grams)
  • Sea salt - 1 tsp (6 grams)
  • Black pepper, ground - 1/2 tsp
  • Ground turkey, 90%+ lean, uncooked - 1.3 pounds (600 grams)
  • Broccoli, cooked, boiled or steamed - 12 oz (350 grams)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F or 175°C. In a small bowl, combine the worcestershire sauce and 2 tbsp of the ketchup and put aside.
  2. Chop the yellow onion and garlic. Add the yellow onion together with olive oil to a small frying pan on medium-low heat. Fry for about 2 minutes, then add the garlic. Fry until the onion is translucent.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the egg, onion and garlic, oats, the remaining ketchup (4 tbsp) and salt and pepper. Mix properly. Then add the ground turkey and mix everything together.
  4. Thoroughly mist a loaf pan with olive oil and place turkey mixture into the loaf pan. Spread the worcestershire and ketchup sauce on top and spread out evenly. Bake uncovered for 55-60 minutes, remove from oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before slicing.
  5. Serve together with 2 ounces of preferred vegetables. *Recipe uses steamed broccoli as an example.

*Note: Divide equally by the listed number of servings. Stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
